Zircon Abrasive Discs

Zircon abrasive disks, which are otherwise known as zirconium oxide or zirconia, are significantly coarser and harder wearing than aluminium oxide or ceramic abrasives. As such zircon abrasives can be used in higher pressure environments and can be subjected to greater heat, whilst still performing successfully. One disadvantage of zircon abrasives is that when used to grind mill scale, the outcome will be less satisfactory than that of other types of abrasives.

The most common use of Zircon abrasives is grinding and finishing steel components or parts.
