Abrasive Discs

Abrasive discs are most commonly used for sanding applications on materials such as ceramics, glass, wood, plastics, paint and metal. Abrasive discs are formed of abrasive grains (aluminium oxide, ceramic or zircon) attached to a backing that can be made of film, fibre, paper or a non-woven material in the shape of a circular disc. The material used for the disc backing affects the conditions in which it can be used, i.e. wet or dry. The discs are mounted to a sander or grinder for polishing and sanding applications.
